Is this just a case of fee agreed? Has he signed a pre-contract or could this be a Swansea/Sigurdsson type thing where some else can come in for him Spurs stylee?

Interesting point, you'd imagine if one of the "bigger names" in football came in for the same sort of fee he'd want to at least talk to them.

Atletico Madrid could make a move for former striker Fernando Torres this summer after manager - and former team-mate of the Chelsea man - Diego Simeone suggested the striker is on his transfer radar.

Speaking to Spanish radio show Al primer toque on Olda Cero earlier today, Simeone underlined how important Torres can be to a team and left the door ajar for a return when the season finishes.

The 29-year-old left Atletico Madrid for Liverpool in 2007 after scoring 84 goals in 214 league games.

But having struggled to meet expectations since joining Chelsea more than two years ago, his old club appear ready to welcome the striker back.

"Fernando Torres is currently playing for another team. We have to wait for the season to finish and decide which of the available players could come here and do a good job," Marca.com quotes Simeone as saying.

"Fernando knows about the club's history, what it means to play here and I don't need to speak about his ability. We were teammates. I know how important he can be." link

Would be a decent 3 signings for then.

You know Wenger will end up spending £5m on some unknowns though!

                              ABV's brother/sister/wife/civil partner?
                              .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.
