For all those who are happy we aren't in Europe next season, does this make u think again? Europe is special and I am gutted we won't be in it next year. Sickened to see Chelsea lift this trophy.
I'd love to be in it but we haven't enough quality or depth in the squad to battle all season on 4 fronts, Chelsea have.
We aren't though so I hope we make it bloody count next season and get back in the CL.
****ing chav cunts. Such a **** arse no mark club so undeserving of the riches they have. Well done too rafa though. The guys a winner no matter what people think.
So you don't think playing many games on Thursdays doesn't matter at all?
It gives the manager much less time to prepare for the league game. Say one or max two days instead of almost a whole week.
Spurs dropped a few points in February and March, they played in the EL during that time.
After they got knocked out they won almost every game.
A coincidence?
Can be used as an excuse sometimes though rather than an explanation........if you have an emerging side, especially one bordering on the younger side, experience in big, European games can be advantageous.
Time spent preparing for games is not always the key to winning those games at the weekend.......develop confidence, develop team mentality, develop form etc etc.
Yes, you need a squad, but if you want to progress a side with the ultimate aim of competing in Europe and domestically, you need to be exposed to the rigours of competition at some point, not idling a week before producing yet another turgid display.
Success breeds success, wins produce more confidence, confidence produces more wins.
I'd rather not come down as absolute as some on saying that playing in Europe is or isn't detrimental to a team's domestic form, its more down to the growth of certain squads than anything else.
Not having European concerns didn't exactly help Man City.
