I'm not assuming anything because nothing has been confirmed. Just an opinion if it does get confirmed. We've had plenty of time to do the deal and we've been down this road before where a club gets pissed off with us and sells the player to someone else.
Disappointing. It was taking bit too long which is typical of us really, Aspas and Alberto also took quite a while, even though they were rather smallish in comparison. We need to act quick IMO to prevent other clubs from getting ahead, but who knows what happened.

Yep - that's what assumptions are.
Why get pissed off about it? Some you win, some you lose.
Dortmund have reportedly been after him for about a month...it's not as if they've just waltzed in and got it done in a week.
Didn't know that, felt like they only just nipped last week but this has dragged on for so long I am just confused, well then we were always up against it. Still nice that we were prepared to spend on a quality player like that, hope we have some good options to fall back on.

OK - before I bugger off, how about some perspective?
We are 5 (that is FIVE) days into the transfer window. To get upset over the club not acting quickly on this is a little perverse. Are there back up targets? Who knows, but I'm sure we'll find out soon. A lot of our signings come from out of the blue, so I wouldn't be in the least surprised if tentative negotiations on other targets have been taking place in parallel to this one.

Bye.
Have a nice weekend mate.

it's comical. A bunch of people who knew little about the player a couple of weeks ago are drawing conclusions, even about next years league position in Arn's case, based on conflicting reports from bull****ting hacks about a single target.
