Let's start the Gossip by depressing some Geordies.
The Daily Mirror reports that the reason Derek Lambeezy resigned from Newcastle after a deal for Brazilian defender Douglas fell through, because Joe Kinnear had never heard of him.
The paper claims: 'Llambias is understood to have spent months lining up a Bosman-style free transfer for 25-year-old centre-half Douglas, who was linked with Newcastle as far back as last summer, and a deal was in place.'
However, Kinnear barreled in and gave Steve McClaren a call, because he had no idea who Douglas (who has played in the Champions League) was.
Lambeezy then resigned because he felt he couldn't work with Kinnear.
And worse, there is talk that Graham Carr is set to go next.
It only took him three days to f*ck everything up. Impressive, in some ways."I will make the boys feel your support"
