But I agree if he wants out, which is pretty much the only solution surely? He should hand in a transfer request.

The cynic in me would suggest that he's simply trying to force a move away from Newcastle.

Virgin Money sponsored the club last season and were the sponsors when he signed.

Is he good enough to play for a better club than Newcastle? Has he been linked with any other teams?

That's assuming he was aware of how Virgin Money operate, on the surface they just seem like a big company. Wonga however have had bad publicity just recently so he'll have been made aware of it without having to do any background checks which would be a bit much.

I think this is a load of bollocks. Will Cisse pay refuse a cut of his salary? As this sponsorship deal is paying for a portion of his salary. I don't think he will. And last year they were sponsored by Virgin Money anyway!!!

..Its promoting Riba..Promoting 'interest' in essence... Dealing in Interest taking or recieve it

                        I gathered that.

I work in IT in a large bank. Nearly the whole world deals in riba in one form or another. Even so called 'Islamic Banking' who base their ' Islamic Rate' off the global capital rates position. :duh:

And like many people in this country we all have at least one mortgage. That's riba all your life.

The question is where you draw the line and I feel Cisse is drawing it unrealistically for the profession he has chosen and the country he has chosen it in. If it is of concern to him then I re-iterate resigning is his only Islamic option.

Personally, I think he is a dick for doing this.

Bro..Its almost coming across like you are defending Riba and legislating for it..

The world does this so its ok... the so called 'islamic banking/ mortgage system is still the same..they just changed wording on the contract from interest to arrangement fee/rent/ management fee..but its ok that burger is halal because they said so in Asda..but HMC says it not and HFC says it is ok..'

'We' term does not fit 'all'..I don't deal in Riba neither does my family.

I have a background in economics and have privately done extensive reading into Riba, Islamic economies and islamic finance. There is not a single nation in this world that is first and foremost Islamic and secondly one that runs the principal of Islamic Finance or runs and an islamic economy. There are various other forms of Islamic finance and principals including Mudharabah and Musharakah to name two off the top of my head. You don't need a Global rate to implement either nor an Islamic Banking system...so completely avoiding Riba

What are the reasons for the way you managed to derive Ijtihad in that 'his' only Islamic option is to resign?

You've made a judgement on an individual without knowing his circumstances or his personal ethics and morals, within Islam itself there are many schools of thought. He's decided to make some sort of stance which goes against what you precieve is better..The answer to your question is that you have already drawn the line from a personal viewpoint that.

I guess you two brothers are aware of the Sins according to Islam relating to Alcohol is not just the one who drinks it? Just Like Riba

All the best during Ramdhan lads.

I think the last sentence is key here and will be the thing that reduces any sympathy he may have received. Basically I didn't bother him then so he shouldn't use it now, unless he didn't know what Virgin Money was in which case he should sack his advisors
