The fans should be happy having a manager that basically guarantees they stay up every season (if they manage to have the great escape this)…and could possibly get back into the mix for Europa spots. Only then can they really whinge about how attractive the football is.

He probably sees Newcastle as an incredibly underperforming giant. They have a strong local fanbase, the stadium, but dodgy ownership. They do recruit on the European front too, and I bet Rafa fancies using his connections to bring in some players.
However, he's going to have to keep them up first. Newcastle have a game in hand, but it's against Man City at St James. Park. They still have to play us and Spurs, and they have Leicester on Monday. They are competing with Sunderland to stay up.
It would be bizarre to see Rafa in the Championship if they do go down, unless he has an exit clause.

The main difference between Rafa and Jose is that Jose knows which club to pick and when.Originally posted by Pablo View PostHe's made some dodgy career decisions since he left us. This is another one.
Mad decision from him though. Starting the season managing Ronaldo and Bale and ending the season with Mitrovic.
In some way have to admire him for taking that decision.
