Rafa would be another excellent choice.
Neither of them play well with others!

Louis Van Gaal: the solution to all the problems in the world today.
      .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Absolutely irrelevant if the decisions are right or wrong, they must be tough.

Maybe they could sort out the National debt at the weekends.

Which players from the England u-21 would have been eligible for this? I think you guys should start from scratch and pick the strongest team bottom - up, instead of top - bottom, if you catch my drift.

Instead of using too young players for the senior team who hardly play there, let them play for the younger teams and gain winning experience.

England could have fielded a reasonably strong U-21 team this summer which would have impacted on the U-20 team as well.
                    * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

It seems to me that it is a bit of an odd idea that club sides should be thinking largely about the national side when developing young players.

I tend to agree with Arn that coaching is average here, although it is far from clear whether that is a problem with individual coaches, the scheme for training coaches or the simple fact we have too few trained (there was some comparison on the BBC and Spain had something like 10 times as many as we do with proper qualifications).

Whilst he is clearly a nutter and I'm not sure he was the most adventurous England coach I think someone like Glenn Hoddle would be a better fit than van Gaal for the role of changing the system in England. He's dedicated his career to player development since he left managerial roles and he has experience in management in England. A lot of the solutions suggest by Arn simply wouldn't work in England. The football league will never vote for B/C teams in the league and given that the Championship is one of the top 10 most watched leagues in the world it seems that the product is doing well on a lot of levels.

Derik equalizes for Spain. Mexico have been the better team but I expect Spain to start to take control now.
