He is shocking at trying to win the ball from players.

Whenever he turned it over he tried to chase back but never even looked like winning it back...

I actually thought he was quite poor for most of the game.

Playing in the CAM role in 4-2-3-1 you need to be able to nip in and win possession even if you aren't going around belting people like Coutinho often does. Definitely something he eeds to work harder

Having said that he is very positive with his passing and plays the lovely reverse chipped ball that Xavi and Iniesta love to play which when played right can create assists out of nothing.

I thought he did ok, he did a few good things but didn't stand out. He obviously needs more experience of English football and it's way too early to judge him.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Did okay, but clearly needs more time to settle in the team and learn the system. Had some nice through balls and seems calm on the ball, but needs to learn the pressing system better - and obviously the patterns of attack.

There is defo hope for him here.

Peripheral last night and he is very slow - that said he's a lovely passer, nice weight on most of his passing and he can find the gaps. I think he'll be fine.

early thoughts after one game are exactly the same as when we signed

looks a reasonable squad player, technically good, will hopefully contribute but don't expect him to tear it up

Just looks to be lacking a bit of confidence or arrogance to demand the ball and play his own game, he let the game pass him by a bit. But as others have mentioned he's definitely got enough quality to make it at this level.

I still don't know what position this lad is supposed to be

Might have to be a bit patient with him he is a talented young lad getting to grips with a new country and a step up in footballing quality.

He's only played one game! (not aimed at anyone in particular, there just seems to be a slight air of negativity surrounding him already)

I think he can play in a midfield three, off a striker or inside left forward. He'll improve loads on the other night, and you can tell he's got the technical ability. Very slow though.

He's as slow as Xabi was. Great feet and a wonderful technician. If he could learn to tackle he could end up being a fantastic deep lying play starter/ forward momentum engineer.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

He's either a central midfielder or deep lying striker. I can't see him playing on either 'wings'.
                          Are we winning?

Long term, no. But I think in the early part of his career he can do a job in that tucked in position with a left-back bombing on beyond him.

Cissokho and Enrique are bombing left backs.
