I think the point is that the EU has made specific exemptions for football in some areas of law but not all. If the FFP rules break the law and no exemption is in place then Arn is right. I would expect though that some sort of negotiation would take place as it did with teh Bosman and Webster cases before.

Which club would take action though - is it not a case of the club that does take them to court would be suspended from all competitions until it was resolved?

Now that FFP starts properly this year I think clubs that are outside of the top 4(like ManU) are going to struggle to get back in without doing a structured rebuild getting rid of the top end earners at the club. The chavs are 49 mil in debt so they are going to have to be mindful of spend and ensure they make CL place because they won't be able to buy there way back in if it's in forced correctly. That's a big IF.
I think LFC as a club has been set up really well by FSG and the timing and position we are currently in is very promising.

            If it is enforced properly...

I have a feeling that United have a massive 'war chest' in the bank from their failure to spend big in the summer, so that should see them through the next couple of windows at least I suppose.
            Oh I don't know.

They still have to buy well and at the moment with the style of football they are playing I cannot imagine top top top players queuing up to play under Moyes. I personally think/hope they are going to struggle for a few years.

                And that too.

Personally I hope they spend tens of millions on yet more dross. Well, we all hope that. And with Moyes at the helm, it is a distinct possibility.
                Oh I don't know.

And it's david Moyes with the key.

                    £30m for Shane Long?
                    Oh I don't know.

Unfortunately FFP will benefit Utd as they are on of a few elite clubs who can spend big and not take a loss. But luckily, for the moment anyway, it is like people have said Moyes who is spending the cash.

Chelsea used up the entire 3 season debt allowance this season. They'll have to be very careful, probably why Mata is for sale.

Better hope they win the League and Champion's League then!

Just run up less debt than City, Monace, PSG etc and make it look like they are trying should see them ok.

The other good thing about the proposed FFP rules, is that ManU won't be able to simply throw money at they're bad situation. It may take them them years/decades to recover.

They're income is only going to decrease with less revenue from home matches and hopefully no CL money.

They'll still have more than enough to throw at the problem until they get back into the Champions League.

If we can do it on a comparative shoestring, they definitely can, unless they keep Moyes in charge.
                                Oh I don't know.
