    Roberto Soldado

This one seems to be gathering some momentum. Worth a thread anyway IMO .

I've always thought he was a decent fox-in-the-box striker, but he's just coming off the back of a great season: 31 goals in 46 games.

28 though, and the price seems excessive, rumoured they want £25m. Spurs have been trying to get him over the past couple of days but couldn't agree a fee.

Check out this finish at 3mins15, sick:

He'd only be able to play in that central striking role, so if there's any truth in this I'd say it casts further doubts over Suarez's future. It'd be a lot to pay for a 28 year old substitute!

    Anyone rate him?

well Rogers clearly stated that he was looking for someone up front and a left back.

      Soldado and Cissokho?
Jacques Brel is alive and well and playing at Anfield

Ah this is better, thread on him.

I don;t know much about him - would 28 be an issue? Is he a player who relies on pace or guile?

Anyone who thinks fsg would sanction £25m plus for a 28 year old are living in cloud cuckoo land! Not a chance it will happen.

Good player but I can't see us spending that on a 28 year old

Has this been reported anywhere apart from twitter? I wont be convinced until a member of the ever-reliable journalism industry produces a story....

I quite like him, I think he'd make a good focal point to our attack. The question is whether we need that - isn't that Sturridge's place in the team? Also, as many have said, he's 28 and thats an awfully large fee that we'd never recoup.

                    He's worth £20m + easy. We sold a lamp post for £15m.

He will only improve this team IMO, with or without Suarez.

I have this lingering doubt that he could become another Morientes, £25M for a 28 year old? Not a chance in hell.

If his goals get us a top four spot he would have been worth every penny. If Suarez goes, this (signing Soldado) is a gamble/sacrifice we are going to need to make.
