no doubting soldado finding the goal. does he put some graft in, a bit of chasing, etc.

Soldado might be a tad overpriced for FSG's taste, but the upshot is that he has a release clause and the price can't be jacked up (further, at least) after we get the Suarez money. The reality of it is that if we sell Suarez we're shopping in an inflated market anyway, so getting great value for money is going to be tough. Doesn't matter all that much so long as we buy the right players.

Interesting to see what happens with Sturridge should this come off, though. We went 3-5-2ish a few times last season and that'd be a way to fit them both in the same side without getting unbalanced or sticking Sturridge out wide.

Smells like essence of Carroll to me.
          We should offer them €30,000,002.

That'll show Arsenal how to do business.

I'd be very happy with Soldado especially as we are playing further up the pitch and we have more creative players like Ibe, Sterling, Aspas and Coutinho.

Plus if he gets us into the Champions League then he's paid for himself.

Would be great work from the club if we can get him in.
Good post, agree totally but I'm not sure he would come. lack of Euro football is killing us.

I'd be disappointed if we went for Soldado full stop. Disappears for large chunks of the game, requires space beyond the defence to run into. He doesn't press, doesn't move into channels to add fluidity to the team. Valencia absorb pressure and play the counter attack. We don't. He's also very wasteful, despite bagging a number of goals.

I hope the stories are false. I'd rather we went for Alexis Sanchez, who, despite myself not rating him that much during his time at Barcelona, would be a better option for this team than Soldado.

Problem we have is the lack of options if Suarez goes.

Soldado looks like he would be the only one available who would want to join us.

If only Rodgers was aware of all that.

On what grounds to you say that? This article suggests otherwise. I'd happily take a striker who played 35 games last season, scored 24 goals at a chance conversion ratio of 24%, had a shot accuracy of 46% and an on target shots to goals ratio of 52%. Plus he made 4 assists. I can't imagine how anyone could call that wasteful, especially compared to some of our recent stats.

Cannot see anything other than positives if we sign Soldado.

I can hardly be bothered this morning.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.
