No doubt this will be another failed attempt at a 'marquee signing' but for what it's worth I'd be pretty made up if we signed Soldado. He's about as good as we're going to be able to attract and he'd replace Suarez's goals. Seen a fair bit of him and he is clinical - you'd think he'd help us improve on our wastefulness. Would be great work from the club if we can get him in.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

        He can only improve us.

It would be great work but as you say, I doubt that we will get him. The only chance have is if Tottenham fail to agree a deal IMO. We are clearly his second choice IMO.

Yup better than Carroll but I just have this sense of deja vu.

It will be very disappointing if Soldado is our only signing that will go right into the starting 11. The transfer window started off really well by strengthening the squad but we need at least 3 top class players for the first 11.

Not many realistic targets left out there that is good enough. Soldado is more or less the only one and that is why Valencia can demand a OTT transfer fee.

We'll probably end up with Nolberto Solano instead of Roberto Soldado knowing us.

Haven't Valencia still got a massive debt?

Offer Valencia €29.9m euros and Joe Allen. That'll do the trick.

Real Madrid will get a big part of the transfer fee IIRC. Could help them signing Suarez.

Valencia owner has made it very clear that the price is 30m euros and the price is non negotiable. As I've been saying all week given his age and the way fsg operate we will not meet that figure. Besides I don't fancy moving Sturridge to the right.

So is allen to be the next scapegoat for the greatest fans in the world now then?

No I've never rated him. Never rated him at swansea, never rated him when we signed him and still don't rate him now.
