I think Liverpool need to move away from the whole idea of a marquee signing. Just can't see it happening for us. We're wasting our time going after these players. We should be looking for players like Sturridge/Coutinho who were on the fringes at top clubs and not getting game time.

Sakho/Ilori and Ljajic could be gotten for less than we were willing to spend on Willian. Throw in a youngster like Will Hughes too and that would make it a good summer window for me.

Interesting. I'm not sure that the club look at in the way you suggest. For me they want a single player who will make a big impact if they though Ljajic represented that I think they would go for him. The players we have gone in for have been in demand and we have lost out but if we still have good targets then I don't think we have wasted our time in a way that has hurt us greatly but if one of the deals had come off then we would have been significantly better off.

My feeling is that the CB issue is more about the fact that Toure - Agger is our first choice pairing, so getting in another CB is not a priority.

Liverpool should be looking at some of the CFC squad that will be short on games this coming season. Maybe Brendan can pump Jose for some favours.

It's too bad that Mata will probably be used as makeweight to do Rooney deal but I'd really like if we would try to get Moses on a loan.

Our winger options are pretty limited and he'll have very little playing opportunities at Chelsea after their last buy.
