Yeah I agree. It's pretty clear he meant he wasn't going to talk about it.

I'm not overly confident on it mate. I suspect though that we are offering him more money than Spurs. It could swing it, if we go a bit higher. Can't see us having any back-up options if we miss this one so late in the window, so should think of going the extra mile
