Pretty depressing that we have five teams ahead of us now in the transfer stakes. Oh well, it'll make finishing ahead of Arsenal and Spurs even sweeter this season!

No I don't have the answer but I know what it takes to get top class players to sign for a club that don't play in the CL. Massive wages.

If other players ask for better money because we make a big signing and offer him massive wages then they are also mercenaries. Then the only reason they play for us is because of, money.

The day we can offer CL football then we also don't need to pay out as much wages to compensate the lack of it but until then we must compensate the lack of CL football with money.

IMO (if he has indeed chosen Spurs) its not Spurs that have beaten us to Willian, it is London. The Brazilian community here is thriving and it is such an easy sell from that point of view.

How much have spurs spent this year? With Willian in there it would be close to 80 million. Would be rather funny if Real pulled the plug on Bale and left them with that hole (with the obvious unfortunate side effect that they'd still have Bale too).
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

How did we manage to sign Suarez then? Or Coutinho? Both top class players, obviously Coutinho is young. But he went from a club with CL football to us.

              Same with Suarez.

Arn, you have got to stop hammering people with the same points. Clearly there is some debate in what you are saying, but stone walling people is going to really **** them off.

Usually you would be right in this instance. But people will always be able to provide examples where its wrong.

                Absolute rubbish.

If someone is doing the same job as you and you're performing equally or better, and you find out they earn more than you, it's not just about the money. It's about pride and feeling valued.

We offered Anzhi a higher fee and Willian higher wages than Spurs. Neither of us have CL football. So how come he's chosen Spurs?

We can't even laugh at Arsenal for failing to land their top targets now!

Potemntially beat to another player by ****ing Spurs.

                    Absolutely gutted.

Do we know that for sure? Not saying we should offered higher. Maybe the player just wanted to play for Spurs, we'll move onto the next target.

They have a billionaire owner who stuck in 50 million for transfers this season. They have also made a few quid back in sales.

They ain't going to be poor and Bale will still go.

If it's £30m for Willian, they will have spent £90m recouping just shy of £25m.

Money and London. Money, London and a manager that won the Europa League being manager at Porto and Chelsea and have a good reputation out there.

Sorry to sound like that broken record again but I had to answer the question and I won't lie about what I think is the reasons behind why he signed for Spurs.
