City haven't even won a knock out round yet. Yaya Toure is 30 now, Aguero can't seem to keep two legs intact for more than a few weeks and are we sure Pellegrini is the man for the job. Chelsea were pretty much in the running from the off under Abramovich but City are still light years away from competing.

If just throwing money at it was the answer then Real Madrid would have won it since 2002. Spent an eye watering amount since and barely dented the competition. Need to spend the money on the right balance of players and they currently don't have anywhere near a Champions League winning squad. They may eventually get there but there are plenty of sugar daddy teams who are also spending stupid amounts of cash......plus we'll be back next season
