It's going to **** up a good few seasons I'd imagine as you'll have to jig things around to fit the seasons in to give time for preparations and actually playing the league games.

It should have gone to Australia

Talking about doing what's best for football; that would make a change

And it will be everything too. Cant just do a few top leagues. The wholy pyramid has to change because of promotion and relegation. No Christmas double fixtures. No FA Cup 3rd round first weekend of Jan. Winter break will stay a permanent thing too I bet :-(

It also means once it's been done once they've set a precedent to move it again.

dirty filthy rotten corrupt cunts. once the judge has sentenced half the fa and manure to death he can then head a commission to investigate fifa and hang them high, let the crows pick out their dead rotting eyeballs, let the flies lay eggs on their rotten corpses and watch the maggots eat them down to the bone.

i feel so much better for that. going to get the kettle on now

That would be completely ridiculous. I guess it's safe to say that it wont be in January, and it won't be at the end of December due to Christmas.

The real test as to how corrupt FIFA are will be the sale of alcohol at stadia.

They forced Brazil to change the rules so the offical beer partners etc could make their wedge... Sorry, because having a beer watching the game is parrt of the culture. If they don't try that in the dry state of Qatar then they obviously have a fat enough wedge of cash from them.

It would actually take a body as large as the EU to take on FIFA though. They are registered as a charity in Switzerland which means they can not be sued. If you sue them in your own jurisdiction they threaten expulsion for all nations in that association so nobody is getting their bid money back even though the bid process was clearly legally flawed by significant change to the criteria as significant to the dates it is hosted! A week or two maybe but 6-8 months is crazy!

It doesn't make any more sense the more you evaluate it.

Of course they're corrupt, that goes without saying, but the national associations are either up to their necks in it also, or reliant on the money for their upkeep too. In reality, what right do FIFA or even UEFA have to control the domestic games of member countries via nation FAs?

Regarding beer, it's part of our football culture but that doesn't mean it has to be part of world and World Cup football culture. They chose Qatar, laws and all, and if they do make an exception for World Cup games and serve alcohol then that is a shame imo. The World Cup had just become a sponsorship machine and anything to challenges that is a good thing.

FIFA have come out and played this down, saying they are still not sure when they are having it.

                                Madness.
