Bookies would have welcomed this because surely not many were backing him to be the next manager sacked with the likes of Rodgers, Moyes doing their best to **** themselves up.
Wonder would benitez go to Palace. He shouldnt (i reckon west ham might go for him..... Or when Eddie Howe ****s up in the next year or so then maybe he could go back to Newcastle) but you never know
I think some managers who were amazing players are more suited to looking after elite teams. Ancelotti has proved that. Vieira possibly the same
I sometimes wonder whether Clubs would be better to bring in a mentor to work alongside a young manager rather than him. There are plenty of ex managers around who'll never manager another club but could provide valuable advice.
