Harsh - they've been under an embargo for seemingly forever. He's done well to keep them in the Championship under those conditions and now when it looks like they're getting the embargo lifted, they get rid.

Lambert the overwhelming favourite for the job apparently - I work with a couple of big Blackburn fans and they'd prefer Sherwood.

Sherwood would love to get them back up into the Premier League.

Whether his ego would allow him to drop into the Championship is another thing but it could be a good move for him.

It's exactly the kind of job someone like Sherwood needs - he was nowhere near qualified or experienced enough to manage Spurs or Villa.

Needs to cut his teeth at somewhere where he'll get more time.

Chance to get his win ratio back up to scratch as well.

Looks like Villa jumped in too early with Garde. Poor old Moyesey would have been a great choice for them

Is Moysie a great choice for anyone?!
What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

Hopefully Chelsea will recognise his qualities when they sack Morinho
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

Personally I thought he was a great choice for United. I'd definitely recommend him for the Chelsea job.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I dunno, I think Moyes would be good for Villa - there are Everton parallels there, he did ok there all things considered. Villa are a deluded club with their best years behind them, fans with the "we're a big club" mentality but their team is battling relegation, owner not willing to pump in massive funds...
