Am I wrong in thinking that with their only being 4 spots for CL, we should be cheering for Arsenal to beat every other top team in the league? That would most likely cement them as top and leave 3 spots up for grabs but it may be easier to qualify for the CL as a distant 2nd or 3rd than have 5-6 teams on equal points towards the end of the season. I'm pretty sure from a game theory perspective (assuming our ideal result is 2nd to 4th) one team with a huge margin in 1st is better for us if that margin is created by points gained from the other competing teams.

City are much more likely to win the league though. Arsenal are a rival for 2-4th to us. Or more realistically 3rd or 4th.

The fewer points they have the better for us.
