I think most of there players are third party ownership.....I seem to recall players like Falcoa were owned by 3 different entities!

Doyen "helped" Atleti buy Falcao from Porto, but I think Porto owned him outright.

FC Porto are well known to be in close relationship with so called "super-agents" with Jorge Mendes likely the most well known. As a consequence of this relationship Porto have made many succesfull transfers, but have also been under hefty criticism of something close to footballs answer to trafficking. Basically they are snapping up a lot of talent, but they also create a lot of problems for youngsters not making it and it. A bit like the Belgian scandal a few years back but with South America instead of Africa.

We did Our under - 16's coach is from Porto, he is Dutch and was at PSV before. There is an article on him in the news section, very interesting read actually.

Liverpool Turned Down the Chance to Sign 2 90s Manchester United Legends:

Former Liverpool manager Graeme Souness revealed in his new autobiography ‘Men In White Suits’ that he turned down the opportunity to sign two players that eventually became Manchester United legends in the 90s.

The Scottish coach said Danish goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel had written to him asking for a trial, saying: “I am a Danish goalkeeper who has been a Liverpool supporter all my life. I am willing to pay for my own travel expenses. Can I come to Melwood for a week's trial?”

But Souness opted against it as he didn’t want to upset Bruce Grobbelaar, who was the club’s No.1 between the sticks at the time.

He was looking for a way to slowly phase him out of the side, but felt the Liverpool shot-stopper was going to give him too much of a problem to make the Schmeichel deal worth pursuing.

“I was trying to edge Bruce out. But it was proving difficult. I thought if another goalkeeper turned up, we were going to have more problems with Bruce. So it never happened,” said Souness.

The decision backfired heavily, as Schmeichel - who joined United from Danish club Brondby in 1991 - went on to become a legend for Liverpool’s fierce rivals Manchester United, playing a starring role in multiple Premier League success, and ending his time at Old Trafford as a treble winner (Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League).

He’s regarded as one of the Premier League’s best ever goalkeepers, so Liverpool could hardly have made more of a misstep in ignoring him.

Souness further revealed Eric Cantona could have been a Liverpool player, when Michel Platini presented the talented Frenchman to him following Liverpool’s UEFA Cup game against Auxerre.

“Platini knocks on my office door and comes in. He said he had a player for me. He told me that he was a problem in France but would be perfect for Liverpool. The player was Eric Cantona,” The Scot added.

But the Liverpool boss turned down the chance to sign Cantona as was “fighting lots of fires at the moment” and didn’t “need any more trouble.”

The decision once again went against Liverpool in the worst possible way, as the Frenchman not only became a club legend for United, winning every domestic trophy available, but scored against Liverpool in the 1999 FA Cup final to earn United victory.

“It was another situation where I should have been more open-minded," Souness quipped.

The 1999 FA Cup final, heh. Top, top researching.

                              And it's Bender-aged news anyway.

Heh, knew about Cantona. But Schmeichel was interesting. He actually might have changed things. Because when he was between the posts for Utd we had Grobbelar, Fridel, James and Westerveld. Only really sorting the position until Dudek came along.
                                *Except Michael, who died.
