England U-19s to replay end of qualifier after referee mistake
England will restart a key Under-19 women's match in the 96th minute with a retaken penalty after a refereeing error.
Mo Marley's side, trailing 2-1, will replay the last seconds of the European Women's Under-19 Championship qualifier against Norway in Belfast on Thursday.
German referee Marija Kurtes disallowed Leah Williamson's spot-kick for encroachment during Saturday's match.
But she wrongly gave Norway a free-kick instead of ordering a penalty retake.
Uefa's decision to order the final seconds to be replayed was made on Wednesday following a Football Association protest. It is the first time such a decision has been taken in a Uefa competition.
The restart will take place at the Seaview Stadium in Belfast at 21:45 BST with a different referee, as Kurtes has been sent home following her error.
Both teams must restart the game with the same players who were on the field at the moment the penalty was taken in the original match, although England can change the kick taker.
Vilde Fjelldal gave Norway the lead on Saturday, before Molly Bartrip's own goal made it 2-0.
Substitute Rosella Ayane pulled one back for England with two minutes to go before they were awarded the late penalty.
England and Norway's Under-19 women's teams are in Belfast anyway to complete a set of round-robin qualification fixtures for July's finals in Israel.
Both sides - in a four-team group with Switzerland and Northern Ireland - have a chance of reaching the finals and face qualifiers earlier on Thursday.
England, who beat Northern Ireland 9-1 on Monday, play Switzerland in their final scheduled qualification match at 16:00 BST. Norway will face Northern Ireland at the same time.
The winners of each of the six qualification groups will join the hosts at the finals this summer, with the final place at the eight-team tournament going to the leading runner-up.
Uefa rules state that the leading runner-up will be the team with the best record against the sides who finished first and third in their group. What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins
