Think it's more the fact that you'd never see a message along the lines of 'Fathers, Partners and Sons' for the men's group of losers, rather than it being anything outright sexist.
'Sloppily sexist' is how I'd put it.........which isn't as racy as it sounds.

Heroes for getting one round further than they usually do.

It comes across badly, but this is the result of cannibalising full articles for clipped tweet quotes. The full article the tweet was sniped from was about the home lives of the players and within that context was just a lifestyle piece. Lazy content creation and editing rather than lazy/sexist journalism.

Had been edited and had that bit removed so entirely removing any context. Extremely lazy journalism

The former Germany international Marcell Jansen has called time on his career at the age of just 29 after he was released by Hamburg at the end of last season, justifying his decision by admitting: “I can’t just suddenly kiss another badge now.”

Jansen, predominantly a left-back, has 45 Germany caps, enjoying spells at Borussia Mönchengladbach and Bayern Munich before joining Hamburg in 2008 and helping the club narrowly avoid relegation from the Bundesliga last season.

He made just 15 appearances in the Bundesliga last season, however, and his contract was not renewed. Rather than seek another club, Jansen has opted for a career change.

“I thought about it on holiday. There were a lot of good offers but for me carrying on is not an option,” Jansen told German newspaper Bild. “I am fit, can move on a free transfer, could still earn good money but I prefer to renounce the money.

“In the last few years I was very emotionally tied to HSV. I will continue to live in Hamburg and will always love this club. Gladbach, of course, as well. But now some new club? No, I don’t want to lie or deceive some other club or fans when I am no longer fully behind it. I can’t just suddenly kiss another badge now. That wouldn’t be right. I am myself too much of a fan for that.”

Bit silly - not as though he's been a one club man

He can still be a professional without the badge kissing; just do your job well & the fans won't mind if you kiss the badge or not

Good luck to him in his new career anyway
What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

A massive billboard featuring Keane as Scottish hero William Wallace - in a still from Oscar-winning film 'Braveheart' - was placed on the side of a 40ft truck and driven around Dublin ahead of Ireland's match against Scotland. It was also driven past the Aviva stadium where the 1-1 match was played on June 13.

The billboard had the following message aimed at Scottish fans: "You may take our points - but at least we have our freedom... (Ya wee pussies)". It's believed to be a reference to the Scottish Independence Referendum which took place in September last year - and saw a majority of Scots vote to stay within the United Kingdom. Some 1.6 million people voted - with 55pc voting to stay within the union.

The 'Irish Daily Star' have reported that the former Manchester United captain has begun proceedings against Paddy Power in the High Court in Dublin and the case is likely to take place early next year.

It's understood he is suing the bookmakers for tens of thousands of euro.

He is represented by A&L Goodbody while the bookmakers have engaged Arthur Cox to represent them. It's understood representatives for Keane lodged High Court papers against the company on Monday.

If Paddy Power loses, it could cost them up to €100,000 if Keane wins and his legal costs are paid.

Spokesperson for the firm Paddy Power said: "Roy Keane has taken legal action against us following his face appearing on our Braveheart billboard ahead of the Ireland-Scotland game.

"It's with the lawyers now so obviously we can't talk about it, but hopefully they won't take our freedom to have a bit of craic," Mr Power added.
That rug really tied the room together.
