Stoke have made a £20m bid for West Brom striker Saido Berahino.

The Potters have offered £17m, with £3m in add-ons, for the England Under-21 international, who has one year remaining on his contract.

The fee is close to West Brom's valuation for the 22-year-old, but the deal may be held up until the club find a replacement, with West Ham's Diafra Sakho one of their targets.

Crystal Palace and Watford are also interested in signing Berahino.

£20M for a young player with one year on his contract? No wonder we're holding out for top dollar for Benteke....

Beat BATE by a 3-1 agg score tonight - the play off CL round awaits and if they lose that they are in the EL Group stage - at worst they will make almost 3 million euro from the games won so far and the group stage but of course they could yet qualify for the Champions League (at which point expect the league form to suffer - though they could go out and buy a whole new team for that! )
