Bolton manager Neil Lennon was left clinging to his job on Sunday night after the club launched an internal investigation into claims he made a 'knife threat' to his mistress.

Lennon, 44, was claimed to have told a woman 20 years his junior someone 'could' put a knife to her throat if she went public with details of their year-long affair.

The relationship between the woman and the former Celtic boss, who has a long-term partner, was said to have turned sour after the mistress found out he was seeing a third woman.

BBC pundit Lennon has continually denied making the threat, the Sunday Mirror added, while his legal team say he has been the victim of a blackmail.
That rug really tied the room together.

Anyone subscribe to the blizzard? If so, how long is it roughly? This pay what you think it's worth model is all well and good but I've no idea whether each issue is just a handful of articles or the size of a Tompkins compendium.

I've had a few. They are good. Quite lengthy and I'd say each edition is probably worth £7-10 or so.

Lots of different articles, some properly obscure. It might be worth getting the early ones to see what you think? It's a little hipster but they are are nice table book.

Barcelona release new signing Sergi Guardiola due to offensive tweets
                              • Barça confirmed signing in afternoon but terminate contract by evening
                              • Guardiola claims his friend took his phone and posted messages as ‘joke’

Barcelona moved swiftly on Monday to cancel the contract of Sergi Guardiola just hours after signing the 24-year-old due to social media messages that he posted, dating back to 2013, that were offensive towards the club and Catalonia.

Guardiola, no relation to Pep, was unveiled as a new signing for Barcelona B in the afternoon but by the evening his contract had been terminated, despite his protestations that he was not personally responsible for the offensive tweets.

Among the messages posted by Guardiola’s account was “Hala Madrid”, apparently a declaration of support for the club’s Barça’s arch rivals Real Madrid.

But speaking to the Spanish radio station Cope, Guardiola said: “I know I made a mistake. I apologise to Catalonia and Barcelona. I understand the decision, I’d do the same.Guardiola, no relation to Pep, was unveiled as a new signing for Barcelona B in the afternoon but by the evening his contract had been terminated, despite his protestations that he was not personally responsible for the offensive tweets.
