(I put a but I'm not comfortable with it. What he said was appalling but had he not scored against us he wouldn't be in this position. Also it was years ago and he was young - he's entitled to **** up and better himself as he matures.

I reckon there are few people, realistically, who haven't made such such stupid comments in their youth, you grow up and learn the it's not acceptable but he was basically still a kid at the time.

I don't think he should be been banned.

It's such a minefield. His comments were so, so bad but banning him from kicking a ball for a few weeks - years after the remarks - seems completely futile and a token gesture.

And yeah I grew up with some rum lads who were very homophobic and now totally renounce those views and are embarrassed by it all. Gray was contrite afterwards and I thought he handled it quite well. Difficult one though.

I guess they have to create precedent, and the big lesson is that when you put something on Social Media it is written in stone. Would be useful if they used this to reinforce positive attitudes towards LGBT in some way rather than 4 week ban.
