That's crazy when you consider City must have been out of the PL for 5 or 6 years during that time as well

Interesting as well that the difference in spending between us and Man Utd has happened since 2013-14, at that point we were level with them, since then they have spend ~£400m more than up

That can't be right, we're just £10m short of United? I know they have been getting 10x the value for average players over the years to balance the books, but that still seems way off.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

The hyper inflation of UK football probably has a lot to do with it. You have to spend many more pounds on the same player than even three years ago.

It does. The whole thing is meaningless.
                        Really?

                          To some extent.

Although I'd suggest that City out front having only been near the top 6 in recent years is pretty telling.

I did consider that, but since prices have become ridiculous, we've been pretty good at balancing the books and I'm pretty sure when Jose was moaning about not being able to compete financially with us, his net spend was over £100m more than ours.

Our net spend has been very reasonable during the period of hyper inflation though, hence posting £100 profit laster year. Sure we spent £160m last summer but couts will total 140m, solanke, Ings etc.

                              I don't believe those numbers.
