I came to the conclusion a while ago that he can't possibly read the replies etc to his tweets otherwise he would have given up twitter almost as soon as he had started using it.

Roy Keane will not be going to Glasgow Celtic, Independent.ie can exclusively reveal.

It is believed the assistant manager has decided to remain within the Irish set-up after considering his options over the past few days.

It is understood Celtic had made Keane a formal offer but in the end, the 42-year-old decided to see out his commitment with the national team.

Keane made his decision known to Ireland manager Martin O’Neill and FAI Chief Executive John Delaney earlier today, it is believed.

The news comes following a week of speculation mounting about where Keane’s future laid.

Keane was first linked to the Celtic manager job after Neil Lennon stepped down from the position ten days ago.

Roy Keane is considering a move to Aston Villa to become manager Paul Lambert’s new assistant.

Keane would be allowed to continue working for the Republic of Ireland national team under Martin O’Neill and also remain as an ITV pundit, if he took the Aston Villa role.

Earlier today, Independent.ie exclusively revealed that Keane will not be going to Glasgow Celtic.

The Republic of Ireland assistant manager had been considering his options over the past few days.
