Plus he is arguably the most successful British footballer of all time with 4 champions league winners medals - depends on how you rank the champions league vs the premier leagueOriginally posted by Norbs View PostI think he'll learn to live with the mistakes he's made in his career when he logs on to his online banking account

Scored one of the best ever goals and did it in a CL final. Madrid, and their supporters are horrendous. The fact that Bale is being treated with such disrespect after what he has done for them says it all.Originally posted by Irishnev View PostPlus he is arguably the most successful British footballer of all time with 4 champions league winners medals - depends on how you rank the champions league vs the premier league
But he has to put the move down as a massive success. He just wont go down as a legend for them, but thats because of the club not him.Modifying post.

He's a bellend, seemed a perfect fit for Madrid. I guess it was the supposed competition with, and resentment from, Ronaldo that did for him there. But he chose to go there, made his bed, and he's lying in it. And extremely rich for it.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

I wonder what sort of offers he's had from PL sides, if any. Spursy fan at work says they had first refusal on him should he want to come back to England but doubt they'd compete with City. If City offered him £400k a week and he's getting £1m a week in China, would he give it consideration to add a couple or PL titles to his honours? I wouldn'tOriginally posted by Irishnev View PostPlus he is arguably the most successful British footballer of all time with 4 champions league winners medals - depends on how you rank the champions league vs the premier league

He’s 30 and win the lot - I suspect he’s thinking 2 years in China, earn around €100m then head off to the states and retire a multi millionaire. If he comes back to England he makes a fraction of the salary and will be under serious pressure to deliver. He’s been injury prone for a while so why bother.Originally posted by Norbs View PostI wonder what sort of offers he's had from PL sides, if any. I get the wanting to better yourself etc but he’s won loads and he gets one shot at a career so why wouldn’t he want to milk it in.

That's mental money for 2 years of coasting isn't it. You don't hear about players getting stir crazy out there now, unlike when Gazza went thereOriginally posted by Irishnev View PostHe’s 30 and win the lot - I suspect he’s thinking 2 years in China, earn around €100m then head off to the states and retire a multi millionaire. Utd baulked at his wages 12 months ago as Barnett refused to lower his demands, plus Madrid wanted a fee to offset his wage cost. Barnett has made clear that Madrid are goin g to pay, and I mean pay to end his contract. I can see Bale pocketing EUR50m plus just to leave.
Didn't he always prefer Golf to Football anyhow, coast two years in China and then 2 or 3 in the states and he's banking USD200m...I make no apologies, this is me

Okay.......
Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale would be a "perfect fit" for Liverpool, says the club's former midfielder Paul Ince.
Bale, 30, is "very close to leaving" Real according to manager Zinedine Zidane, who has been called "a disgrace" by the Wales forward's agent.
Ince says Bale should "re-invent himself" and play regular football rather than pursue high wages with a move to the Chinese Super League.
"My opinion is if Liverpool can afford him, he should go there," said Ince.
