At a guess, the fine system was anticipated to apply to more minor infractions and at different levels of the football pyramid, and the maximum fine was set accordingly, maybe some time ago. This case was so severe that the punishment was scaled with a punishment not limited in such a way, ie ban.

Was at my first Womens league game last night in Dalymount park as a friend of work was playing for Bohemians so a few of us turned up to support her.

All I can say is wow. Is so unlike the men's game at the highest level.

Full blooded tackles, no falling down at the slightest touch, players busting a gut all game long, players doing what the ref says, the ref actually reffing the game properly and loved how players support one another with words of encouragement throughout the game.



And the second goal Bohs scored was just a stunning goal. The sort of volley that would be on highlight reels for years if scored in the PL.
