Fair ****s to Ademola Lookman, a London lad who started at Charlton then flopped at Everton, a bunch of loans and then establishing himself in Italy and now scoring a hattrick in a European final.
Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom- 2 years1year 0.5 years
So the relegated Burnley manager gets the Bayern Munich job
How does that work?
Yeah I was basically asking that question yesterday, he did well in the Championship, but **** in the PL, doesn't exactly qualify you for one of the top jobs in Europe.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Bayern have been turned down by 3 or 4 managers and tried to get Tuchel to stay after sacking him. Might explain why they’ve gone for Kompany. Seem to be a mess behind the scenes with big egos running or ruining the club.

But surely there are more than 4 or 5 managers available to them who are better than Kompany

Company speaks German, has experience in many leagues and is still kinda high profile. Bayern tried to get glassier from palace and they turned down £17m.
Ton's of ego's at Bayern, [probably worse than Utd.

They might have gone for more than that and just been rejected, I’ve seen lots of names talked about and a couple who looked set for the job to rejecting it last minute. Maybe there are more problems at the club than we see or the way they’ve treated most of their recent managers has made them unappealing and a big rebuild with some older players who have too much sway. Plus the behind the scenes egos running things. At some point their dominance would come to an end. Maybe no one wants the cursed Kane.
Maybe some Guardiola influence helping his ex player at his old club, didn’t he say Kompany would manage city one day? Or maybe he said that because he knows city and getting relegated.
West Ham United’s Lucas Paqueta has been charged with misconduct in relation to alleged breaches of FA Rules E5 and F3.
The player has been charged with four breaches of FA Rule E5.1 in relation to his conduct in the club’s Premier League fixtures against Leicester City on 12 November 2022; Aston Villa on 12 March 2023; Leeds United on 21 May 2023; and AFC Bournemouth on 12 August 2023.
It’s alleged that he directly sought to influence the progress, conduct, or any other aspect of, or occurrence in these matches by intentionally seeking to receive a card from the referee for the improper purpose of affecting the betting market in order for one or more persons to profit from betting.
Lucas Paqueta has also been charged with two breaches of FA Rule F3 in respect of alleged failures to comply pursuant to FA Rule F2.
The player has until 03 June 2024 to provide a response to these charges subject to any request for an extension to this deadline.
The FA will be making no further comment until the conclusion of this case.

I am assuming if found guilty he is in line for a long ban given that Ivan Toney got 8 months for betting on games he wasn’t involved in

You'd assume so. I think there is a bit of pressure on football authorities to stop punishing an addiction to betting when the sport is so heavily sponsored by it but spot fixing and affecting the integrity of games you are involved in is a different level.
