I have watched as fair bit of footie here and there in the past few months, but I have to say, when you are used to such world class football that we play, such precision, such a force, such pressing, such unpredictability, such mesmerising movement, watching all other football teams shows you what sort of top shelf football we play. We are just the best team in the world, bar none. You notice the little things, the way other teams have a great break, but it breaks down with a pathetic wasteful pass. Jürgen et al just would NEVER allow that sort of sloppiness. I’m so glad to be a Red

What is most annoying about them/businesses/practices/humans, in general, is when all you ever are is REACTIVE. When your whole identity and ethos is based around reacting to situations, being the best at reacting, instead of carving your own identity, being on the front foot, standing tall and proud with your own unique offering to the world.

Mourninho used to be like that too. The best and most cherished, in all walks of life, they grab the bull by horns and stamp their unique expression on the world. It is a far more enjoyable endevour for all involved.

Poland - changed jobs the lot......trialing for a year as the new company will allow me to change back to Ireland if we can’t settle. The Mrs is from Katowice and as the role is nominally in Prague I can commute from here and wfh the rest of the time.

We are together almost 15 years so I’m coming here at least once a year so why not give it a try. No regrets and all that

Week 1 in the job and I can see I’ll be fine there - I was brought in by the head of the function who used to be in my last place before moving. It all depends on herself and the kids. Once school starts it will help a lot as we can’t leave the kids outside to play as we did in small town Ireland and they are bouncing off the walls as we are too busy to give them the time they need.
