We have more players in it than any other club! 5 years ago we had one (Coutinho). Man it's so good being a Red.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Dundee United's legendary manager Jim McLean died at the weekend.

When i was a youngster my dad would often take my to either Kilbowie to see McLean and Ferguson's great Dundee United and Aberdeen sides demolish Clydebank. On occasion we'd venture slightly further afield to Boghead to see United and Aberdeen when they played Dumbarton.

My dad wasn't a supporter of either team but he did enjoy watching good teams. He also doing his utmost to keep me away from grasp of the Old Firm.

I can still recall watching the Barcelona 1 - 2 Dundee United UEFA Cup quarter final second leg with him. The game is seared into my memory. Not only because i was transfixed at how low Paul Sturrock's socks were or for the famous United victory but also because it was a school night but i was allowed to stay up late to watch it.

We did a tour of the Camp Nou in 1988. They were showing highlights of Barca games in the club museum. It rolled around the the Dundee United game and they showed the Barca goal and then moved onto another match

He took me to was the 87 Scottish Cup final to see Dundee United vs St Mirren. We stood with the Dundee United fans. Accents more akin to the St Mirren fans but both of us dearly wanting United to win. Fergusons injury time winner was a sickener for all concerned.

That was the last United game we went to (i think) Scottish football had undergone some sizable changes. Ferguson had left for England, Souness was in at Rangers. Dumbarton and Clydebank had both been relegated from the Premier League.

Looking back McLean and his United team played such a huge part in my formative footballing education. RIP Jim McLean

I remember that UEFA cup run really well, I was 12 and just getting really into football. I think pretty much everyone in Scotland was supporting them. The players became iconic Malpas, Narey, Hegarty, Sturrock, Bannon, McInally, Redford, Clark. I loved the style and swagger of Iain Ferguson and was delighted when he signed for Hearts.

Big Jim McLean was quite a character. Uncompromising.

It’s hard to believe that this happened just after the last time a team outside the OF won the League. I was asking my son to guess when the last non OF team won the league and he couldn’t believe it.

I see Fat Sam is complaining he can’t get the players he needs for WBA cos of Brexit. Couple months ago he was in talk sport jizzing about how great Brexit is apparently. Jowly fat cunt.

"Asked if he could support Nigel Farage, Mr Allardyce said: “Yes, Nigel Farage I quite like, but it’s what Nigel Farage has been labelled with is the problem, with Ukip.
“I think he has always been a forthright, forward speaking intelligent man, more a businessman than a politician."
                Obviously a Farage expert.

Fat Sam, 61, who was given the England job last week, said: ”I am out. My feeling is that the European Union isn’t doing the United Kingdom any favours.”
Needs a kick in the cunt, the lardy sack of ****.
                3rd place. Worst champions ever.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
