I know I would argue Titus Bramble was the best CB in world football if he played for us, but I did genuinely think Aspas was a good player. I remember having an argument about him in my work bar.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

He could score a hat-trick in the World Cup final and that will still be what he'll be remembered here for
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I've said it about 50 times on here - every time his name comes up.
His first or second game v Utd his passing was excellent, his touch was superb and he made endless brilliant runs but was largely ignored by team mates, especially Sturridge who was at his hoggy worst.
Then when Suarez came back, game time diminshed and his confidence went with it.

Aspas is a really good player - it's worth noting that he was also horrendous for Sevilla, so it may just be that he can't handle being away from home comforts in Vigo. It's weird though, because not only is he a good and intelligent player, he's determined and plays with a bit of needle too.
He's a bit of a late bloomer and hadn't played a lot of top flight football when we signed him. In all honesty, I think he would have done better if we signed him in his later 20s. He also apparently made no effort at all to learn any English, by all accounts he just said hi, yes and no. He'd have made Naby look like a wordsmith. Wonder if Brendan should take some blame too, although both Sturridge and Suarez were lethal during his time at Liverpool. Either way, I'm happy how well he's done over the years.
