Elliott didn't make the first XI?

He hasn’t been all tournament. Jones has been a regular starter at CM though.

I think Harvey Elliot has a bit of a problem in that he would probably best as a number 10 but a lot of teams don’t play with one centrally and he’s not fast enough to play on the wing.

Been coming on off the bench late on in most matches. He’ll be fresh for preseason at least

They have guys that fit into the team better than Elliot, Elliot has the same problem for the English team as he does with us in he is not really a natural fit for any of the available roles.

Jones on the other hand has been great for them the entire tournament so far and hopefully has a similar game in the final. He has looked a cut above both his own team mates and the players he is up against.

Is a bummer he is not getting as much of a break as the rest of our squad, but am hoping the extras games keep him sharp and maintain his form. Plus he was not coming off of a long season of games before this tournament.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Haha - I think Walcott, Adam Johnson and that guy from Everton who was massively hyped (midfielder who’s name escapes me) were the big names.

              Right - I googled it

              GK 22 Scott Loach
RB 2 Martin Cranie downward-facing red arrow 79'
              CB 17 Micah Richards
CB 6 Nedum Onuoha downward-facing red arrow 46'
              LB 19 Kieran Gibbs
DM 12 Fabrice Muamba downward-facing red arrow 78'
              CM 4 Lee Cattermole
              CM 10 Mark Noble (c)
              RW 7 James Milner
              LW 11 Adam Johnson
              CF 14 Theo Walcott
              Substitutions:
DF 18 Michael Mancienne upward-facing green arrow 46'
MF 15 Jack Rodwell upward-facing green arrow 78'
MF 8 Craig Gardner upward-facing green arrow 79'
              Coach:
              England Stuart Pearce

How did Milner play, he was surely overage?
              Rod well was his name!

Gibbs, Rockwell, Johnson, Walcott, Catermole all def played for Sunderland, not sure on the other two. I’d guess Mancienne and Muamba

Theo Walcott never played for Sunderland.

                  Onuoha and Gardner did though.

Sunderland just seemed the kind of place Walcott ended up

TBF he's also one of, if not the youngest member of the squad. Seeing as he didn't feature that much during qualifiers, it was unlikely he'd be starting much during this.

Confident he'll make another cameo in the final though, so might make a point of watching it.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
