Again what difference would it make?

They already have the World Cup and ownership of a host of top flight football clubs.

The genie is well and truly out of the bottle and all this Super League talk is merely a distraction.

No surpise that the announcement of the new format and the prior FIFA meetings to decide the qualifying criteria all took place in Jeddah.

We will see how long they stick to their two club cap per league if some of the Oil clubs start to fail to qualify, along with how long it takes them to reduce the qualifying cycle.

As someone else mentioned earlier in this thread there has been barely a peep of condemnation regarding the expansion of the Club World Championship from those in the media who where vehemently against the formation of the Super League

Their domestic teams will join it and they will eventually dominate it.

I remember having a debate with a few people about Kane about a year ago, some were saying he wasn't even in the top 5 strikers in the world or not in the top 10 players in the world

Guy is absolutely incredible and the consistent numbers over the years he has been posting are ridiculous.

And I still stand by him not being in the top ten players in the world.

The key word there still being players as top ten players in the world include ever position.

Kane is a top class finisher and has developed into a top class creator as well in the later stages of his career, but at the time of that chat there were a number of players I would have rated above him in terms of making that top ten in the world list, and at the time there were strikers, like Lewandowski, that I regarded as being better than him for a top three or top five strikers in the world.

At the time there were guys like Lewandowski, Benzema, Messi etc who were proven as being difference makers at the very highest level. Be it for league winning teams, cup winning teams, Champions league winning teams and so on.

Think I may also have said at the time that Osimhen, on current form at that time, was better in that moment than Kane as Osimhen was proving to be a guy that was the difference maker between his team being decent and his team being a title challenger/winner.

Kane simply did not have that to his name despite the goals and for me that was the difference between a guy with a great goal record at a club that did nothing of note and the guys who had great goal records AND track records of being difference makers at the very highest levels. Basically they were all more proven at the highest level than Kane.

Jaco just admit you were wrong

I thought Keita would smash it at pool and Amrabat would be a decent squad option for the mancs, it's ok be wrong pal

I can't remember what was said but Kane has been tearing it up for the last decade or so, putting up insane numbers. He's a world class striker & has been for a number of years.

Not sure what I am meant to be wrong on either.

I still don't regard Kane as being in the top ten best players in the world but if you do that's fine.

Not sure who exactly my top ten would be. Do know players like Alisson, Vini Jr and so on would make my top ten player list and am 100% that Kane would not come close to making my list. Unsure how that makes me "wrong"

You do know it is ok for me to have said a year or two years ago that I thought Kane was a very good finisher but at the same time not rate him as the best in the world or one of the top ten players in the world?

Kane has to be up there, scoring goals is what the game is all about and he is scoring bucket loads.

There arent any CF's in world football that spring to mind as being better than him currently. Even Haaland is less of a rounded footballer imo.

Yes currently, but Dan is referencing a chat that he says is from a year or two ago.

Is not like Kane was even called an average finisher or anything like that back then either.

It just comes down to me saying a few years ago or whenever that he would not make my top ten players list (note again the word players and not strikers) and at the time the chat took place I also rated the likes of Lewandowski, Benzema and Messi as being better than Kane in terms of being a striker. Hardly a controversial take

Though if we are talking about just goal getting I would have Halland over Kane. As an all round player though Kane is much better than Haaland.

I think that chat was the start of last year when he was still a world class striker, just like the year before that and the year before that and so on. Each to their own but it's pretty obvious imo that he has been one of the best for quite some time now. Anyways who cares.

he is the most well rounded striker in the world, he has everything.

Enough for you to come at the greatest Irish man ever to have existed. And no, that is not a matter of opinion or up for debate

What he has shown since leaving Spurs is that he is not simply a big fish in a small pond.

Think what he may also show at Bayern, thanks to being in a team with better players around him than at Spurs, is that he may prove that he has the ability to be a difference maker at a higher level. Hopefully at the expense of a team like City in the CL.

That is what was always missing from his game for me and one of the unknowns about him. Do think he may look back at his career and wish he left Spurs for a quality team years earlier.
