The biggest for me is Gibbs-White. What a tidy little player he is, Morgan Rogers is special too though, but i'd have taken him over the likes of Madueke. I know the profiles are different but pace is covered elsewhere anyway.

And yeah despite the shadenfradue even I can make a pretty simple case for Trent.

I'd have taken Jack Hinshelwood over Hendo but i can see what the latter brings (loads of clappping on the bench).

That would have been my big call, but he's not even capped.

There's no real maverick though, international football is set up for that because its so tactical and set up not to lose rather than win when the tourneys come around.

We had a bit of this personality over form selection within the Scotland squad. But nothing like this. For us the pool is shallow to begin with.

Hendo has done really well to kick on with his career since he left us and when I watch Brentford he does show up well. But surely there are younger players ahead of him?

It’s a high risk squad selection and Tuchel will get burned at the stake if it ****s up.

To be fair the big names that were dropped, Maguire, Palmer, TAA and Foden have been mostly underwhelming on the pitch this season.


Don't see any issue with any of them being dropped. Just because three of them had good seasons in the past means nothing now. Maquire is just a lump though.

Henderson and Mainoo ahead of Wharton and Gibbs-White is quite odd though. I know he has said he likes Henderson as a character but he could have taken him as an assistant.

Gibbs White has had a great season, best of his career... I bet he feels hard done by considering he's been far better than Eze, Mainoo and Henderson.

Problem for Gibbs White is that the other 10s have also had good seasons, especially Rogers (less convinced on Eze) And Tuchel has said he’s not taking players to play them out of position, which I think is fair.

Though a bit harsh on Gibbs White, but he’s not competing with Mainoo or Henderson.

Well, quite simply, because Wrexham didn't god damn ****ing qualify in the first place and Southampton cheated against Middlesborough so they were reinstated as the aggrieved team

The only argument from hull that stands up is that they have had less time to prepare for Middlesbrough, because both boro and Southampton knew their potential opponent during the investigation, but hull did not. But that’s the realities of football, every week, one team has had longer between games than the other, for example.
