Konoplyanka's agent arrives for £16m move talks Liverpool

Yevhen Konoplyanka's agent is in Liverpool after the Reds opened talks with Dnipro over a £16million move for Ukrainian winger. Konoplyanka, 24, is the main focus of Liverpool's work in the last two days of the January transfer window and the club have signalled their intentions to add to Brendan Rodgers' squad by tabling a bid in excess of their offer to FC Basel for original target Mohamed Salah. Dnipro have previously stated that Konoplyanka would not be sold until the summer but the presence of his agent, James Lippett, at the Merseyside derby on Tuesday suggests a deal can be done in time for the deadline.

Liverpool boss Rodgers appeared hopeful of making a major swoop before Friday night when he spoke after the derby and it appears the Reds are now at the head of the queue for the right-footed winger's services. Paris Saint-Germain and Bayer Leverkusen have been linked with Konoplyanka in the past while it is thought that Manchester United manager David Moyes also had him watched when he was at Everton.
