Alan Pardew has thanked HIMSELF for signing Remy Cabella.
The Newcastle boss says the France winger is a "marquee signing" after the club spent £12 million, their biggest buy since landing Michael Owen.
Cabella, who has been given a six-year contract, was a long term target and is regarded as a replacement for Yohan Cabaye.
Pardew said: "It's part of a rebuilding process and a big part of it.
"A lot of work has gone into his signing and I'd like to pay tribute to myself, my staff, in particular Graham (Carr), Lee (Charnley), Mike (Ashley) and everyone on the board.
"We've worked really hard on this and he's a player we think is important, which is represented in the fee and represented in his commitment to us. I'm just looking forward to seeing an exciting talent.
"He's a player who has been on our radar for a while and he is a marquee signing for us. He represents for us all Newcastle fans love in a player.

You know what you are getting with him [Ba] and I think he is a really good player. I'd take him over Sturridge all day long. In fact, for the money that Chelsea have paid I think he is an absolute steal. I have no idea why Liverpool decided against Ba and went for Sturridge.
My reservations with Sturridge centre around the fact that he has some growing up to do and I'm not sure whether he will be able to see the big picture on the pitch. Ba would have helped them enormously as every season they fail to get into the ¬Champions League they get further away. Ba is absolute class but Sturridge a top player? I have my doubts.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
