It means so much to him and I'm over the moon. He's come full circle and its a fitting way to finish off a fantastic career.

Welcome Rickie, a new Lambert to the slaughterhouse.

Aside from his own support of the club, which is fantastic, this is more than sentiment; this is a huge upgrade off the bench for us in attack. A 10+ goal a season England international for £4M is incredible business and low risk, despite his age. I am all for this transfer for many reasons-- get the feeling he'd die for the shirt and we are building a club of players with that mentality.

This is such a brilliant signing. He doesn't need to die for the club, specially at 33. He just needs to carry on as usual which is a bloody good standard for a PL striker. He's a much better version of Peter Crouch which is ideal for us as a third striker.

This is one of the key positions I thought we'd suffer next season (post world cup year). Much more relaxed about any further signings now, what a wonderful summer (being made redundant aside ).

Amazing. Heartwarming stuff. He's an immensely likeable bloke and a good player. Good to have him here.

I love that he went to every single Champions League home game in 2005

Smiled and laughed all the way through that. On day two of a hangover here and feeling sorry for myself - that didn't half raise my spirits. Love him already

He's going to have one hell of a reception when he makes his debut!

Lambert got more league assists than: Ozil, Silva, Yaya, Ronaldo, Eriksen, Gotze, Iniesta, Hazard, Nasri, Robben, Isco and Modric.

The last Liverpool substitute to score the winner in the league was Joe Cole in 2011 I believe. I reckon our Rickie will do that more than once next season
