Really feel for him, he's trying too hard isn't he?

I couldn't really hear the crowd very well, but I hope they aren't getting on his back. Hoping it's a bit of a Crouch situation and everyone goes nuts when he scores his first

Not sure I agree with giving him the captaincy. I would've given it to Lucas and left Lambert free to play his own game, but what the **** do I know Rodgers obviously did it for a reason.

Romantic gesture innit. Nothing game so it didn't matter and one of our biggest fans can now say he captained Liverpool

...and he can alos look back on the day he captained Liverpool as being a complete disaster for him performance wise. He looked a troubled man throughout.

He just does not fit in with the way we play. He is not a **** player, but last season we raised the bar. Him and and Borini are not up to that new standard.

I'd like to think it was a bit more thought out than that

Maybe Rickie's family had money on it

There's no other explanation which would possibly make sense. Just about everyone except Rossiter would be above him in the pecking order

Totally agree. If this was explained to him before he signed, then fair enough. But if he genuinely thought that he would be playing in (either starting or coming off the bench) in, say 70% of our games, then it won't be long before he is cheesed off in a big way. I expect him to fock off on a free transfer / load deal next summer - making the whole thing one very expensive £4m signing for one season. We could have just spent it on Eto's wages.....

I have a bad feeling that Lamberts move to LFC will fock up his england career as well....

Very poor signing really. The idea was all heart, no head.

We raised that bar and are now looking longingly up at it wondering how the hell we get back up there

Disagree. We had a clear plan in mind when we signed him as Rodgers has clearly stated. It's just not worked out so far.

Whilst Lambert certainly has a physical prescence, you only have to look at his performances for Southampton last season to see that he is much more than a target man. He can offer a lot more when dropping deep and whilst he won't run beyond the last man, he usually had a composed touch.

He is perfect as third choice, but he really does need to find a why to exert his nervous energy that is pretty much making his legs heavy. Once he has found some form, can relax and releases that pressure, he'll be a great option from the bench.

Much like Markovic, he is keen to do everything right and nothing wrong and is weighed down by his own expectation.

He was terrible last night, his confidence looks shot. I think he will accept being a sub
