Phil Thompson does hear stuff. I remember someone telling me they'd seen him do an after dinner speech and tell the audience that LFC were breaking their balls to bring Xavi Valero back to the club. I then nicked it for Duncan Jenkins
and Barrett promptly confirmed it to be true (despite the fact Valero never came back, the club *were* trying).
