He has 2 years left on his existing contract, they want to sell him and they also want Luis pretty badly so I think getting him for 25m would be possible if we play this right.

10m difference is a large sum of money that we could put to a good use.

A sign we are now ready to move Suarez on.

For the record, I think 50m plus Sanchez is a good deal. The downside is we lose a proven goal scorer so puts pressure on Daniel unless we get another one.

Its not just his goals we will miss. Assists, workrate, skills, and allround genius. Plus the added excitement of what his next suspension will be for.
In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

I want shot of Suarez but his goals, assists, skills etc will be missed but his desire to win IMO will be the biggest loss. Actually i've never seen a player with such a will to win.

Thing that get me does Sanchez actually want to come here.. Or he just stuck in part of a Suarez deal ? From what i've read seemed Juve was his choice destination, i would worry that because Juve are too tight to stump in the money. Suarez's desire to win will be hugely missed, IMO we need players with similar fire & who want to be at LFC.

Sanchez on form is absolutely sensational, obviously not even close to Suarez but he could be a quality signing if he has the desire to come to LFC.

Not a chance whoever we get will be anything like a replacement. Everything changes if he goes, from the type of threat we carry to how other teams set up to defend against us. It will have knock on effects on how Sturridge is marked, how much freedom Coutinho gets, whether their full-backs can push on without worrying about Luis in the space behind them, etc, etc. When/if he's not suspended and on form, he's as close to unplayable as any player Ive ever seen in the PL. You can't replace that.

I wouldn't worry too much about this mate. Footballers seem a self-absorbed bunch anyway. Fabregas is a great signing for Chelsea, but, truth be told, his first choice would have been Arsenal if they had decided to go for him. Luke Shaw - whatever you think of the fee - will work his ass off for United, but his first choice would have been Chelsea. Even Mourinho would have chosen United first given the opportunity, but that won't stop him winning the league in the next few seasons with those London ****houses. And so on.

So called 'dream moves' are a rarity imo. You could argue that even Lallana would have picked Everton if we were both in a similar position.

Really we just need to convince Sanchez that we rate him so much that we value him far higher than Juve do and that we see him as an integral part of our system. His /any player's ego will do the rest. After all, he loved Italy so much that he ****ed off to Spain.

I get Dan's point, and I think it's an important one too. If we're looking to distribute our goals amongst a larger number of players (e.g. replacing Suarez's goals amongst various attackers), we need to have the whole team pulling in the right direction.

I know what you're saying mate but I don't think it would be an issue. If he comes - and it's a big if imo - then Rodgers must feel that his mentality will be correct. We know that he rightly places a big emphasis on that. And haven't we got the ex-Man City scout on board who doesn't seem to see him as arrogant? So I'm sure he wouldn't be dreaming of 'what if' with Juve. I think he'd be fine, extremely motivated and a hard working player for us. In fact I think he'd be really happy playing in our system for a manager that rates him and a crowd that get behind their players.

I don't. I want him to stay. For the reasons you and Galb (below) list. I've decided that there is nothing that he could do whilst playing football that would make me want to get rid of him.

I don't think there is any evidence that Juve is his preferred destination. Other than the Chilean players there, and the fact that he's played in Italy before (admittedly both valid reasons!) then I haven't heard him say that Juve is the club he wants?
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

Reading this thread over the past few days and listening to some Liverpool fans talking about the Suarez situation is incredible ... It's becoming clear that alot of Liverpool supporters are so desperate for us to win, that our morals go right out the window. It's ****ing disgraceful actually.

If this was a player from another club with that history people would be ****ing up in arms. People get a sniff of success and opinions change. The thread started off with the mild undertone of defence from some. Oh he was wrong but... And now I'm hearing so many lfc supporters just coming out now and I don't care what he did, he makes us better and I want him to stay no matter what.

He's a footballing genius but he's a cunt. I don't condone his actions and anyone who wants him to stay is. We are a fickle bunch that seem to make up one rule for us and another for others. He has bit people on 3 separate occasions, dives, cheats, was guilty of racist remarks, the handshake saga and him angling for a move since last year.

Nobody is denying he isn't a fabulous talent and his desire to win is unmatched but it's for himself. He plays for himself, always has and I'd imagine he always will. His performances on the pitch have helped Liverpool get back to the top tier but he has disrespected the club with his actions so many times. If he was **** the club would have ****ed him out a long time ago.

But yup he's a football genius that helps us win no doubts ... Damn the consequences.
