It's football not real life. If he'd ran someone down while pissed, beat his wife, invaded Poland etc then I'd question whether or not he should be playing the game, never mind be at the club but given that all he did was mildly bite, no hangys on, no ripping back ala Tyson I reckon it's not really the sort of thing that justifies outright moral outrage. I'll save that for something that matters.Originally posted by danperkins View PostReading this thread over the past few days and listening to some Liverpool fans talking about the Suarez situation is incredible ... It's becoming clear that alot of Liverpool supporters are so desperate for us to win, that our morals go right out the window. It's ****ing disgraceful actually.
If this was a player from another club with that history people would be ****ing up in arms. People get a sniff of success and opinions change. The thread started off with the mild undertone of defence from some. Oh he was wrong but... And now I'm hearing so many lfc supporters just coming out now and I don't care what he did, he makes us better and I want him to stay no matter what.
He's a footballing genius but he's a cunt. I don't condone his actions and anyone who wants him to stay is. We are a fickle bunch that seem to make up one rule for us and another for others. He has bit people on 3 separate occasions, dives, cheats, was guilty of racist remarks, the handshake saga and him angling for a move since last year.
Nobody is denying he isn't a fabulous talent and his desire to win is unmatched but it's for himself. He plays for himself, always has and I'd imagine he always will. His performances on the pitch have helped Liverpool get back to the top tier but he has disrespected the club with his actions so many times. If he was **** the club would have ****ed him out a long time ago.
But yup he's a football genius that helps us win no doubts ... Damn the consequences.
Plus we've got the likes of your good self sitting on a cloud raining piousness down on us all so with your double outrage it'll more than make up for the lack of long lasting distaste on my side.
And you can find my attitude ****ing disgraceful if you like. Equally I'll find it ****ing disgraceful that the severity of this sentence is less than the total fine a country can expect when it's fans racially abuse players during a game or the fact that FIFA seem to think this is the issue to hang their hat on as opposed to, say, the lack of consideration for human rights of these building the stadia that their World Cup is played in. You're clearly just a better person than the rest of us.A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

It'll be interesting to see how this one develops because if Barca or Liverpool cannot convince Sanchez to join us then there is not a cat in hells chance they will be able to afford his release clause, especially when you take into consideration they still have to replace Fab. I honestly think if Sanchez doesn't join us then Suarez won't be going to Barca. We won't sell him on the cheap, I'm certain of that.

As Gordon Strachan said the other day though there are no morals in football. It's big business and results are everything. No doubt we are a miles better side with suarez and any club in the world would support a player of his quality regardless of behaviour. Maradona was revered at every club he played for even though he was clearly a nut job because he was great to watch and he won games.Originally posted by danperkins View PostReading this thread over the past few days and listening to some Liverpool fans talking about the Suarez situation is incredible ... I personally don't care at this point whether he goes or not as long as the money is right but we'll suffer the consequences in football terms and it may take us a season or two to readjust our style of play

Well between now and the end of October we are going to have to readjust our style of play anyway, so whether Suarez stays or goes we will have a pre season plus August/September/October of competive play with an adjusted system.
So even if we do sell him, we have the same amount of time to get a Suarez-less system in place as we would if we do not sell him.
Big summer for Brendan on the training ground no matter how the Suarez saga plays outI don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

He's a baller this lad, ****ing quality player.
Really hope we get him, can't see him wanting to swap the sun of Barcelona for the cloud, frost and pissing rain of Liverpool though.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Always, keep your face to the sun, and shadows will fall behind you.

Your penultimate paragraph sums up the situation perfectly for me. I can't add anything - I've supported Liverpool since they were in the old 2nd Division, have seen all the "greats" and Suarez is up there with the best, but his bad behaviour by far out-weighs the benefits his playing ability brings to the club......... in my opinion!Originally posted by danperkins View PostReading this thread over the past few days and listening to some Liverpool fans talking about the Suarez situation is incredible ...
