While it may sound like heresy, at the moment that may not be a bad idea - sell the idea to the player that if they work their bollocks off for us we will improve them and they may get to move to Barca/Madrid. Worst case scenario they turn out world class and we get them for only two/three years and sell for a huge profit - worst case they are just very good players who we keep.Originally posted by cream View PostAbsolutely, tell him we'll sell him to Madrid in 3 years time, use us as a stepping stone.
Like has been said on here Barca/Madrid will have that pull for players no matter who you play for.

Debuchy is decent but let's not make him out to be better than that, he had a horrific first few months at Newcastle, I remember Coutinho making him look like a conference player. Sanchez is good, but he's been made out to be like the best player ever on here recently, which he isn't. Last summer Ozil and his trillion assists was supposed to catapult them forward but it didn't, not convinced these deals will do so either.Originally posted by danperkins View Post
Quality buys
Now if they bought a quality striker rather than just having Giroud and Sanogo, then they might be worth worrying about...I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?

Disagree.. Debuchy is a very good RB & Sanchez is a fantastic player. You say let's not make them out to be better than they are, don't think i am & let's not make out their worse than they are eitherOriginally posted by MrMichael View PostDebuchy is decent but let's not make him out to be better than that, he had a horrific first few months at Newcastle, I remember Coutinho making him look like a conference player. They can use Walcott as a striker & they will most likely go for Schneiderlin who would be perfect for them. They are making some good moves already in the market & no doubts will add to their weak areas.

Debuchy had a torid first 6 months here, looked a complete liability prone to resorting to crude hacks after getting skinned, as evidenced when we demolished them 6-0 without Suarez and he was the worst player on the pitch before getting sent off. He improved a lot last season but that wouldn't have been hard. "Decent" is much more fitting for his career in England so far than "very good".Originally posted by danperkins View PostDisagree.. Sanchez we'll see about but describing yourself as "sick" he's signing there seems OTT to me, and I do remember similar comments after Ozil came in. I do agree they need a Sneiderlin, but Walcott as a centre forward... Let's hope Wenger does that because he's very hot & cold, but I don't think he will as he doesn't really trust him there. Overall I'm sure they'll be strong, they always are, but then most people would have had them way ahead of us at this time last year and look what happened.I could not dig, I dared not rob:

Seen a bit if Debuchy and everytime I have either he's been total dog**** or I've been ****faced and thought he was dog****. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.
