A lot of credible sources have this happening at the start of next week, I have to say from what bits I've seen of him both our current left backs are far superior to Bertrand and I cannot see the logic in this one

He's evidently being brought in as backup to Flanno though
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

Agree with that.Originally posted by Robbie-9-Fowler View PostHe'd also worked with Borini before, I trust Rodgers 100% on the field and getting the most out of the team but he hasn't earned outright trust in the market yet. His record is sketchy to say the least.
He is a very good manager but types of players he acquired have been very much hit and miss.
In his first 2 years he spent £95.5M (that doesn't include £39.25M he spent this summer) and with the exception of Sturridge, who turned out be a great signing so far and Coutinho/Mignolet/Sakho (to some extent) most of his other signings have not been good buys for the money spent.
I'm concerned about how Suarez money will be reinvested as I'm not convinced that players we have been linked with bar Sanchez are good fit for us for the fees mentioned.

He also had to shop at a different level than the one he can shop at today, this is his first chance with CL football to offer, his targets last season looked promising but we couldn't get them to Anfield for various reasons (mostly CL football) it's no guarantee he'll buy well this Summer but so far IMO it's been relatively promising and it's not all about star names but getting the right players to suit the squad and the style of football we play.
After last seasons efforts he at the very least deserves to backed this summer

Bertrand is clearly a talent, he wouldn't have been at Chelsea if he wasn't decent enough.
He's a natural left pegger where as Flanno isn't therefore will bring a lot more balance to the left side.
Seems to have a decent engine on him too, a bit like Johnson and can get up and down the pitch quickly.
I trust Rodgers on this one, sure he knows what he's doing.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Always, keep your face to the sun, and shadows will fall behind you.

the main positive is having this lad on the left might then mean we can play flano ar RB.Originally posted by souliv View PostHas anyone anything positive to say about him I am completely underwhelmed by this potential signing he is not better than anything we already have.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

He started in a CL final his team went on to win.. But then again so did Djimi TraoreOriginally posted by souliv View PostHas anyone anything positive to say about him I am completely underwhelmed by this potential signing he is not better than anything we already have.
For what its worth I think he's decent, but honestly I wouldn't rate him higher than say Neil Taylor who's just back up at Swansea.
Rodgers definitely has a gift for getting more out of players though so who knows what he could turn out like for us, having said that we're in the CL now with Suarez money so why make it harder on yourself Brendan.

I read someone say before 'he's shopping in a different market now'.. Maybe so but it sells the same standard of stuff.Vive la France
