Manquillo definitely deserves a start; Southampton at home could be the perfect game for him - home crowd against a team that don't have any tricky wingers.

Read the whole post mate. It was tongue firmly in cheek.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

I'll be mindful when I next coin that phrase.

I best use it often then.

Actually I think he'd be up against Tadic who could be a surprise package this season. Although I'm not sure Enrique is fit enough, he's been out for a long time,
                * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Yeah, I think that a 'tricky winger' Dusan Tadic is actually their main asset this year

Really interested to see him play, he sounds exciting. Hoping he gets off to an absolute stinker though

                        3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Decent read this. Comparison of Manquillo and Johnson today

                          Manquillo – 4 interceptions, 8 clearances, 5 blocks

                          Johnson – 3 clearances, 1 interception, 0 blocks

                          Quite shocking actually

He done alright for a debut......struggled a bit after 30mins and first portion of the second half, but he grew into the game, and didn't look out of place (albeit in a disjointed performance from the team).
Responded well to the yellow card overall, and tempered his game........not too much going forward, but he was always available as an outlet, and showed some decent touches and passing when involved. Got outmanoeuvred a couple times, but he wasn't alone in that regard, and actually made a brilliant recovery on at least one occasion.

                            Encouraging start.

He played well until he got booked. The booking certainly affected his game from then on.....

Really ? I think the overall impression would be one of him growing as the game progressed in the second half.
Might have been a soft yellow card as it could have been his second clash if not his first, but Southampton could probably point to him possibly fouling just prior to Henderson recovering the ball for the opening goal.
Don't see him as a starter, at least initially, but he'll have opportunities to stake his claim.
