Everyone points to the WC Final. But the fact is he got to Ref it. You dont get to Ref a WC final unless you are good at what you do. After that I thought his performances got worse. Almost like he hit his peak.

But he was far from terrible. Most I have seen and read about him has been from those saying his was on United's books, or that he was decent.

Plenty of pros have come out and said he was decent.

Probably unpopular to say all these things, and ill probably be laughed at now though.
    *Except Michael, who died.

Yup I imagine you will be

Each to their own but you speak to most fans of almost any club and they can't stand or rate Webb, ex pros I generally ignore as they on the most part say what they're told to and tow the line of their employers I,e. TV stations.

      An interesting article http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/foo...decisions.html

        I rate him.

As a pompous overhyped self promoting FA poster boy.

As for making it to a World cup Final, well, fifa are hardly the best judges of anything football related. imo.

Probably put the highest bid in to get the gig!

He was no better than half the refs out there, and he bottled the major decisions, time and time again, gave the easy ones so his stats went up.

That's the key thing the big decisions he avoided making regardless of the team, essentially bottled it. No Decision is as bad as a bad call.

Wonder is Sian Massey is in line for a promotion. She’s been flawless in any matches I’ve watched her involved in.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
