I still hope he sorts himself out. He does nothing to help himself but some of the **** he has to put up with is seriously ****ing unpleasant and I'd sort of like to see him stick it to that particular element of the football watching population if nothing else.

And who doesn't love a **** up turned good story?
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

I was really hoping he would do that at Liverpool, despite all the misgivings about him. He had everything going for him here potentially - a fanbase that really wanted to bond with him, a song, a potential underdog tale, but he didn't have it in him. Sure there were other things that didn't help him (Brendan...), and we're left with a disappointing tale of utter **** and the memory of him and Sturridge looking like they could have hit it off in a diamond, if Dan hadn't been made of glass that season. Pity.

Personally, I still think it was a gamble worth taking. £16m is small fry, even three years ago. It didn't work out, what were the other options?

        A parallel situation...

Liverpool are chronically short of a left back. So you could splash something like £25m on anyone just to fill the gap. A gamble. It might work. It might not.

Or maybe just save the money and the nashing of teeth, and the wailing, and the suicidal tendencies.

Because ultimately, it doesn't really matter. And until you realise that, I feel sorry for you.
        Oh I don't know.

Mate of mine spent time in Belize.

Day after he came home he jumped in his mum's motor, drove off and had a head on collision with another car. He got out, marched up to the other car, pulled the driver out, slammed him against his vehicle and shouted in his face that he was a stupid dangerous cunt for being on the wrong side of the road.

Except the other driver wasn't the stupid cunt on the wrong side.

I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

The reason I remember the yellow stones outside the HQ is because I had to paint the *******s white in 1980 as a punishment.
