Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."
Always, keep your face to the sun, and shadows will fall behind you.
He's been ****ing atrocious, he's not merited a place in the starting 11.
I do agree re the favorites bit but Rodgers has dropped some of them of late and he deserves credit for that.
Want some, want some, you want some?
Being **** and being thrown under the bus are not mutually exclusive slinks
Plenty of our players have been woeful this season and haven't even been dropped never mind pilloried by the manager.
If you can find one interview or quote where Rodgers said he was a great signing and an essential buy etc then I'd love to see it. All I've ever seen him say was it was a gamble because others we wanted weren't available.
Mario is top class. If you can't sign a player to fit your style that's world class, you either downgrade or take a gamble on one that has ability but isn't the type. Either way it's a gamble. You see what happened last year when we signed an average player that fits our style - Iago Aspas.
Mario has ability but he is not top class and never has been in his career thus far.

If you remember Euro 2012 you'll know what I'm talking about. Granted, Milan Baros was top scorer at the Euros once. But it was like watching a better version of Drogba, he was a monster. Maybe I should change what I said. My version of world class is a top player who performs on a regular basis. And that hasn't been Mario. He's very much up and down. But he does have the talent. He has the ability.
I still think we need Mario to see the light as I can't see him leaving. But tonight was a great example of why Mario has failed. He's just totally unsuitable at present. And that isn't throwing him under a bus, it's a fact. LFC as a team have struggled because the signing of him has been a disaster, allied to the injury to Sturridge.
It just does my head in that Sterling is having to struggle as a striker when we have someone like Mario who should be starting and firing the goals Raheem is missing. But he looks seriously low on confidence. Hopefully he presses like a good un when he next starts and links with team mates.
I thought he looked fairly good in his cameo yesterday. He was trying to play the way the team was playing, passing the ball about rather than hogging it and losing it....

Good point made about Mario's workrate and attitude on Off The Ball a few weeks back:
He doesn't try very hard because he constantly hears about how truly great he would be if he worked harder but because he's scared he'd still make the same outlandish ****-ups - missed sitters, stupid shots, daft positioning - if he actually tried, he's happy to hear all the nearly-great stuff about himself.
I also think he's one of those people who genuinely have no real understanding of what actually woking hard means. He's a like an eternal teenager, stomping around his room, occasionally shouting about how he's doing his best but oblivious to the cum-sodden sock stuck to the window and the decaying smell, the source of which numerous family members have been unable to locate.
